Schachnah Wainger, 77, prominent in Orthodox Norfolk Jewry for three decade, died yesterday at 7:25 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital. Born in for three decade, died yesterday at 7:25 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital. Born in Lehovich, Poland, he was a son of Paul and Mrs. Sarah Wainger. As a youth he studied for the rabbinate in a Vilna, Poland, yeshiva, which included voice and the rituals of Cchectetta and circumcision. Coming to this country in 1904, be became a naturalized American citizen in L Loch Haven, PA, where he served some 19 years, in all rabbinical capacities. A resident of Norfolk the last 30 years, lately at 363 W. Princess Anne Rd., he had been associated with several orthodox synagogues as a cantor, including Kahal Kahal Chasidene Congregation, 819 Holt St., in the mid-1930's. For the last few years he had been affiliated with the United Orthodox Synagogue. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel years he had been affiliated with the United Orthodox Synagogue. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ethel Wainger; one son, Paul Wainger of Norfolk; four daughters, Mrs. Celia Yavner and Mrs. Fannie Schlain, also of Norfolk; Mrs. Naomi Fineberg of Chicago, IL, and Mrs. Sarah Fiedler of New York City; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Rae Bassel of Winber Winber, PA, Mrs. Bessie Yarrow of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Zlata Cohen of Washington; and one brother Louis Wainger of Johnstown, PA. Funeral services were conducted yesterday at 4 p.m. at the United Orthodox Synagogue by Rabbi Joseph Schecter and Rabbi Israel Bornstein. Burial was in Khal Chasedine (B'Nai Israel) Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Rabbi Simon Kleinhard Kleinhard, Rabbi Samuel Lichenstein, the Rev. Samuel Stamm, C. H. Fine, Myer Korel Korel and A. Silverman. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Jack C. Kanter, Dr. Alter Laibstain Laibstain, Dr. M. J. Miller, the Rev. Simon Mazell, the Rev. H. Rekonty, Benjamin Block, Cyrus Shaverick, J. W. Jacobson, Norman Perlin, R.
