LAURA V. WALKER DEAD Mrs. Laura Virginia Walker, wife of Cornelius E. Walker, died yesterday morning at 5:10 o'clock at the family residence, 152 N. Main Street, after a lingering illness of several years. She was a native of Diwiddie County, Va., but had been a resident of Berkley for thirty-three years. She was in the 58th year of her age. During her residence here she had become well known as a most estimable lady and had won herself a host of friends in whose recollection she will linger as one who beautified the pathway of life for those about her as well as herself. The deceased was a daughter of the late Phillip Greenhill and Mrs. Sarah Eliza Jones, well known and esteemed citizens of Dinwiddie County. In addition to her husband the deceased is survived by four chlldren-- C.E. Walker, Jr., Miss Lula Walker, Mrs. Pearl Hinman and Mrs. Mary C. Hendren, all of this city. She was a beloved member of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, from which place the funeral service will be conducted this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. W.A. Smith, pastor of the church, will officiate and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. *********************************************** The funeral of the late Mrs. Laura Virginia Walker, wife of Cornelius E. Walker, of 152 N. Main Street, was conducted from the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock and was very largely attended. Rev. W.A. Smith was the officiating minister. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. The remains were laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Messrs. George T. Wrenn, John Cuthrell, C.W. Davis, L. Berkley, Edward M. Graves, James F. Tatem, W.J. Brown and H.E. Murray.
