Walker, Who Fell And Broke Arm Monday, Died Yesterday Clarence Sheldon Walker, eight years old, died yesterday morning at 9:30 o'clock from tetanus, which resulted from a broken arm sustained last Monday at the noon recess at the Berkley ward graded school. Clarence and a couple of his little friends were amusing themselves when he fell and one of the small boys falling on him, caused a compound fracture of his right arm and the bones are said to have protruded through the skin. The little fellow was allowed to go home and at the time the teacher did not know the extent of his injuries. She attempted to examine his arm, but he refused to allow her on account of the pain when she attempted to handle it. The little fellow remained in this condition until his father, T.M. Walker, returned home in the evening when he was taken to the Lawford hospital, where the bones were set. He was then taken to his home, 366 S. Main Street. His condition grew worse and he was later removed to the hospital where he died yesterday. The little fellow was born in Elizabeth City, N.C., and had come here with his father a few years ago. The funeral will be conducted from the above residence Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. ****************** WALKER - At the Lawford Hospital, Saturday morning, April 3, 1909, at 9:30 o'clock, CLARENCE SHELDON WALKER, son of Mr. and Mr. T.M.
