Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, October 19, 2005 
NORFOLK - Mother Helen Walker of the 500 block of W. 37th St. died Oct. 14,
2005, in Norfolk Health Care. A native of Wilson, N.C., she was the widow of
Willie E. Walker, a baker at Coppethite Bakery for 22 years and a member of
Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where she was the president of the deaconess board
and mother of the church.

Survivors include one daughter, Margaret L. Roberts of Norfolk; one son, the
Rev. Maurice Walker of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 20
great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the
Rev. Joseph Price presiding. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The remains
will be ready for viewing at Carlos A. Howard Funeral Homes, Norfolk Chapel,
from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The family will assemble at the residence at noon
