Mr. John C. Walker, an old and highly respected citizen of Norfolk, died on July
21st. He was a consistent Christian and a member of St. John’s A. M. E. Church
for twenty years. He died in full triumph of faith, his last words were that he
was trusting in the Lord. His funeral was conducted by Rev. Dr. J. A. Young,
pastor and by the orders of which he was a member, namely, Star of East Lodge,
G. U. O. of O. F., Good Samaritans, Grand Masters Council and I. O. O. of St.
Luke. His remains were laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
