The Virginian Pilot February 16, 1961

John Read Walker, 76, former Norfolk resident, died Wednesday in his home in 
Washington.
Mr. Walker, an attorney, was a native of Kansas City, Mo. And a son of Mr. and 
Mrs. John Walker.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Virginia McBlair Walker of Washington; one 
son, Col. Anthony Walker, USMC, of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; two brothers Brevard 
Walker of Florida and Ewing Walker of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and three 
grandchildren. 
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Cedar Grove 
Cemetery for a graveside funeral service Friday at 11:30 a.m. by the Rev. 
Beverley W. Tucker, rector of Old Donation Episcopal Church.
