Virginian-Pilot October 30, 1947
Mrs. Ella McAvoy Walker, 59, wife of Harry Lee Walker, a native of New York and a 
resident of Norfolk for 30 years, died yesterday at 9:40 a.m. at her residence, 
2925 Peterson Street. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Besides her husband, Harry Lee walker, surviving are two brothers, Joseph McAvoy, 
of New Haven, Conn., and John McAvoy, of New York, and one sister, Mrs. Frances 
Boyd, of Brooklyn, N.Y.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to St. Mary’s 
Catholic Cnurch for services tomorrow at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 
8:30 o’clock.
