Lillie Gray Walker of 2412 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., (COGIC Highrise), formerly 
of Barraud Ave., Norfolk, died Friday, April 18, 2003, at Sentara Norfolk 
General Hospital. 

Born in Roper, N.C., she was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Walker and son, 
James R. Chambers. 

Mrs. Walker was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church where she was a former 
member of the Nurses Unit and its senior citizen group. She was also a member of 
Salvation Army Home League, the Merry Hearts, Norfolk State Brambleton Senior 
Club and a former member of the Committee of 100 Women. 

She retired from Norfolk State University in 1986. 

Survivors include a daughter, Tissia Ann Caldwell of Landover, Md.; a son, 
Charlie Walker and daughter-in-law, Catherine, of Suitland, Md.; daughter-in-
law, Catherine M. Chambers of Chesapeake; two sisters; grandchildren, Josephine 
Caldwell of Landover, Victor and Earlean Chambers of Springfield, Va., Timothy 
Walker of Suitland, Kathy and Oscar Jamerson of Chesapeake and Gary Hines and 
wife of Riverdale, Md.; great-grandchildren, Egypt Johnson of Landover, 
Christian and Ian Chambers of Springfield; seven nieces, numerous great-nieces 
and -nephews; a host of other relatives and friends; and a godchild, Linda 
Scott. 

A funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. at New Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, 
with Dr. G.G. Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Graves 
Funeral Home is in charge.
