Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, September 15, 1999 
Gertrude E. Walker, 82, of the 7500 block of Sewells Point Road, died Sept. 10,
1999.

Born in Princess Anne County, Va., she was a member and missionary of New St.
John AME Church, Virginia Beach, where she was a member of the Senior Choir and
Mass Choir. Mrs. Walker was also a member of Order of Eastern Star of Virginia,
St. Alethea Chapter No. 83. She was retired.

Survivors include her husband, James J. Walker; a daughter and son-in-law,
Rosetta Lamb and Frederick Lamb Sr., all of Norfolk; a sister, Mary E. Foreman
of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Frederick Jr., Anthony and Dominick of
Norfolk, Sharon Holley of Virginia Beach and Sgt. David Lamb and family of
Germany; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at New St. John AME Church,
Virginia Beach, by the Rev. E.H. Terrell Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery
. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. The family will receive
friends at the daughter's home, 6829 Silverwood Court, Norfolk. E.A. Hughes
Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
