A native of Norfolk County, he lived in the area all of his life. He formerly worked for Curtis Bay Towing Co. He was a member of Seafarers International. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Christine Paige Abrecht of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter, Miss Linda M. Owens of Huntington Beach; two sons, Walter Anthony Wallace of Gloucester and David Alton Wallace of Virginia Beach; two stepsons, Benny Owens and David Owens of Huntington Beach; nine sisters, Mrs. Sophie Maude Kindley, Mrs. Rosa Belle White, and Mrs. Carolyn Ray Green of Chesapeake, Mrs. Lula Mae Meads of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Mildred Louise Taylor and Miss Penny Eugenia Wallace of Hialeah, Fla., Mrs. Darlene Virginia Wynn of Santa Ramon, Calif., Mrs. Joyce Ann Howard of Aberdeen, Scotland, and Mrs. Barbara Jean Kendrick of Pell City, Ala. Also surviving are six brothers, Joseph C. Wallace III, Nianza Emory Wallace, and Thomas Lee Wallace of Virginia Beach, John Leonard Wallace of Norfolk, James William Wallace of Chesapeake, and Emmett Wallace of Denbigh; and a grandchild. A funeral service will be held today at 3:30 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, with burial in Riverside Memorial Park.
