Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark February 24, 1934
Mrs. Sophie Green Wallace, aged 35, wife of Joseph C. Wallace, of Norfolk 
County, died at a local hospital last night at 9 o'clock after an illness of 
five days.  She was the daughter of I.B. and Mrs. Columbia Blow Green, was a 
native of Perquimans County, N.C. and had made her home in this section for the 
past 20 years.  Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, Joseph C., 
Ninza E., Walter Francis and Leonard F. Wallace, all of Norfolk County; four 
daughters, Mrs. Sophia A. Love, of Sanford, N.C., Lula May, Rosa and Mildred 
Wallace of Norfolk County; three sisters, Mrs. M.P. Novell, of Norfolk, Mrs. W. 
G. Groves, of Ahoskie and Mrs. S.F. Spires, of Norfolk; three brothers, W.E., 
R.J. and F.J. Green, all of Norfolk and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Wallace was a member of the Moyock Baptist Church.  The body was removed to 
the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets, South Norfolk.  Funeral 
arrangements will be announced later.
