He was retired as a sheet metal worker from the Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth. He was a member of South Norfolk Lodge 70, IOOF. He was the husband of Mrs. Pency Gayle Wallace and a son of George Washington and Mrs. Emma Kitzmiller Wallace. Besides his wife, surviving are one daughter, Mrs. J.R. Councill of South Norfolk; two sons, George W. Wallace of South Norfolk and Carroll Gayle Wallace of Barco, N.C.; one brother, Robert L. Wallace of South Norfolk; three grandsons, CWO W.C. Wallace of Heilbronn, Germany, Gene C. Wallace of Princess Anne County and Orris C. Wallace of Barco; one granddaughter, Mrs. Olie Ballance of Maple, N.C. and 12 grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at Graham Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
