Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, August 30, 2001 
After a brief illness, Evelyn L. Wallace, 67, of the 400 block of Appian Ave.,
quietly passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2001.

Evelyn, a Norfolk native, was the daughter of Thomas and Geneva Hines. She
graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1953. Evelyn was a
member of Unity Lutheran Church and an active member of the Altar Guild and the
Wednesday Night Bible Study Group. She was retired.

She is survived by her husband, William A. Wallace; a daughter, Janice
Wallace-Robinson; two sons, Jason and Jonathan Wallace, all of Washington, D.C.;
two brothers, the Rev. Lewis E. Hines of Norfolk and Marvin E. Hines of
Portsmouth; three sisters, Jessie H. McRae of Norfolk, Shirley H. Garner of
Virginia Beach and Erma H. Wade of Norfolk; and three grandsons, Kendall and
Satchel Robinson of Washington, D.C. and Avery L. Brooks of Warrenton, Va.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Unity Lutheran Church in Norfolk
by the Rev. Gorensen. Burial in Calvary Cemetery . A wake service will be held
Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home in Norfolk.
