Retired U.S. Army SFC George J. Wallace, 72, quietly departed this life Sunday, 
March 27, 2005, at his residence.

He was born and raised in Charlotte, N.C. His wife, Deloyce B. Wallace; parents, 
George S. and Creola Wallace; and sisters, Sarah Sowell and Annette Wallace, 
preceded him in death.

He is survived by his sons, Tony Wallace of LeNoir, N.C., Tommy Wallace of 
Stafford, Va., and Darrell Wallace of Hampton, Va.; daughter, Dr. Lisa Wallace-
Davis of Newport News, Va.; sister, Willie Bell McClure of Charlotte, N.C.; 
brothers, Jay Lee Wallace of Charlotte, N.C., and John Thomas Wallace of Brooklyn, 
N.Y.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives 
and friends.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at noon Saturday at the Basilica of St. 
Mary of the Immaculate Conception with Father John J. Dorgan officiating. 
Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Norfolk.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the residence at 7 p.m. on 
Friday.
