NORFOLK - Magdalene B. ``Big Mama'' Wallace, 93, of the 1400 block of Halstead
Ave., died Feb. 5, 2003 at Autumn Care.

A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of Leo Wallace and was retired. She was a
member of New Macedonia Christian United Church of Christ in Norfolk. She was
predeceased by her daughter, Alean Winder; grandson, Leroy Winder; brother,
James Beverly; and sister, Maxine Lawrence.

Magdalene is survived by four granddaughters, Carolyn Mercer and husband
Charles, Magdalene Washington, Clotelia Lawrence and husband Herbert and
Kathleen Brooks and Edward, all of Norfolk; two grandsons, William E. Winder Jr.
and wife Sandra of Columbus, Ga. and Michael Winder of Norfolk; adopted
granddaughter, Elsie Smith; adopted daughter, Rosanna Smith;
granddaughter-in-law, Shirley Winder all of Norfolk; 13 great-grandchildren; 22
great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; a godniece,
Lenora Gates of New York; and two special friends, Frances Prout of Clinton, Md.
and Estell Jackson of Meriden, Conn.

Our special thanks to Autumn Care and Oak Tree Nursing Home.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in New Macedonia Christian United Church
of Christ, Norfolk, by Elder A.D. Wright and Minister Trudy Scott with burial in
Calvary Cemetery . Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
