               Walter U. Walsh, 61, Norfolk Florist Since 1950

VIRGINIA BEACH - Walter U. Walsh, 61, of 5569 Whirlaway Road, the husband of 
Mrs. Ruth T. Walsh and owner-operator of a florist shop in Norfolk since 1950, 
died Tuesday in his home.
Walsh, a native of Norfolk, lived in this area all his life. His florist shop is 
at 1907 Colonial Ave. in Norfolk.
He was a member of Norfolk Elks Lodge 38.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Sandy C. Cartwright of Virginia beach; 
two brothers, William J. Walsh of Virginia Beach and Thomas K. Walsh of Norfolk; 
three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, where a Christian 
wake service will be held tonight at 7:30 
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church, Norfolk, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.

WALSH, WALTER U. – In his home, 5569 Whirlaway Road, Virginia Beach, Wednesday, 
WALTER U. WALSH, husband of Mrs. Ruth T. Walsh and the son of the late William 
J. and Mrs. Mary Alice Walsh, in the 61st year of his age. A Funeral Mass will 
be held in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Friday at 10 a.m. Burial, St. Mary’s 
Cemetery. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, has charge.
