The Virginian Pilot (Norfolk Va) Friday July 17, 1959
Mrs. Maria Holmes Walters, 65, wife of T. Hardy Walters, and daughter of Capt. 
Nelson and Mrs. Annie Midgett Holmes, a native of Kitty Hawk, N.C., and a 
resident of Norfolk for 59 years, died Thursday at 3 p.m., at the residence, 
6101 Studeley Ave.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Miss Annie Lee Walters, 
of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. Mary H. Doyle of Norfolk; Mrs. Leola Waller 
and Mrs. Anne Pitcherello, both of Reading, Pa.; two brothers, John Holmes and 
Douglas Holmes, both of Washington, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 
Saturday at 2 p.m., by the Rev. Claude F. Moseley, pastor of Colonial Avenue 
Methodist Church.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
