The Norfolk Virginian Pilot June 8, 1940


Sidney A Walters, aged 78, son of Theodore A. and Mrs. Georgianna Reed 
Walters, died at 3:20 o’clock yesterday morning at Mrs. Young’s Nursing Home, 
3605 Llewellyn Avenue, after a long illness. Mr. Walters, a native and 
lifelong resident of this section, was a prominent trucker of the Walters Farm 
in Princess Anne County for a number of years. He is survived by two half-
sisters, Miss M.A. Walters and Mrs. William Myerly, of Clarksville, Md., two 
nieces, Mrs. E.A. Strour, of Kingston, Pa., and Mrs. G.L. Bonney, of Norfolk; 
two nephews, T. Auteille Walters, of Kinston, Pa., and T. Hardy Walters, of 
Norfolk. Services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. 
Leo J. Ryan, S.T.D., pastor of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church officiating. 
Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
