VIRGINIA BEACH — Emilie Blanches Wanat, 59, of 2288 Chadwick Drive, a native of 
Youngstown, Ohio, died Saturday in a hospital.
A nurse, she had retired from the Naval Reserve as a lieutenant and had worked 
for eight years for the Public Health Service. She was a member of Star of the 
Sea Catholic Church and was a graduate of Columbia University and Old Dominion 
University.
Survivors include two brothers, John Wanat and Charles Wanat, both of 
Youngstown, Pa.
The graveside funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Cemetery 
Mausoleum by the Rev. Raymond McIntyre. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin 
Road, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the 
Hospice of Virginia Beach.
