Norfolk Virginian Pilot June 20, 1942

Mrs. Rose Harrington Wan Delken, aged 55, wife of William J. Wan Delken and 
daughter of the late James and Mrs. Mary O'Brien Harrington, died at a local 
hospital last night at 10:25 o'clock. Mrs. Wan Delken was a native of 
Charleston, S.C. and a resident of Norfolk for the past 35 years, residing at 
2831 Grandy Avenue at the time of her death. She was a member of St. Mary's 
Catholic Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Miss Mary 
Wan Delken, of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. I.R. Ward and Mrs. H.M. Samson, both 
of Charleston, S.C. and Mrs. L.B. O'Connor, of Meggett, S.C.; a brother, John F. 
Harrington, of Charleston, S.C. and a number of nieces and nephews. The body was 
taken to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, pending 
arrangements.

WAN DELKEN, ROSE HARRINGTON - At a local hospital, Friday, June 19, 1942, at 
10:25 o’clock p.m., ROSE HARRINGTON, wife of William J. Wan Delken, and daughter 
of the late James and Mary O’Brien Harrington, in the 56th year of her age. 
Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 
Colonial avenue, to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for services MONDAY MORNING at 10 
o’clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
