Ward who died Saturday night at the home of his mother, No. 60 York Street, age 47 years, took place this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the residence, and was conducted by Rev. Father McCartney, of St. Mary's Catholic Church. The interment was in the Catholic Cemetery. The following were the pallbearers: Messrs. John Walters, John Doyle, Peter Smith, Washington Taylor, T. F. Rogers, Henry Reardon, William Seabury and Edward Higgins. The deceased was a brother of Col. Wm. H. Ward and of the late Dr. T. B. Ward. He was in the Confederate service during the war as a member of the Norfolk Light Artillery Blues. He had been in bad health for some time, but the immediate cause of his death was pneumonia, after an illness of two days.
