Mrs. Ward was a native of Huntington, W.Va. and a resident of Norfolk for the past 21 years, residing at 4501 Hampton Boulevard at the time of her death. She is survived by one son, Charles Francis Lane; one grandson, Charles Francis Lane, Jr., both of Richmond and an uncle, Francis P. Lane, of Norfolk. The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, of which Mrs. Ward was a member, for services Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 8 o'clock. ************************************************************************** MRS. MARY ANNE WARD - Funeral services for Mrs. Ward, widow of Richard Ward, whose death occurred Monday, were held at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. J. O. Schmidhauser officiating. The Rev. J. F. Govaert, pastor, was in the sanctuary. Mrs. F. R. McLaughlin and Mrs. R. P. Smith sang "Veni Jesu," with Mrs. C. R. Davies as organist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, pink roses, gladioli, baby's breath and fern. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frederick Downing, Michael V. Holland, Thomas V. Duffy, Thomas V. Duffy, Jr., David Edgar, Andrew Robinette, J. W. Kavanaugh, Jr., and Hubert Moore. In his address at the conclusion of the mass, Father Schmidhauser paid tribute to the Christian life and character of Mrs. Ward. Services at the gfrave were conducted by the Rev. J. F. Govaert.
