A native of Norfolk, he had lived in this area 68 years. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Eloise Tew Ward, and retired from the restaurant business after managing various clubs. He was a member of Norfolk Lodge 38, BPOE; Saints & Sinners Club of America; Virginia Beach Sports Club; and Lagamar Golf Club of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He was instrumental in bringing many name band orchestras to the Norfolk area in the early forties. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Linda Tew Ward of Richmond; a sister, Mrs. L.H. Hancock of High Point, N.C.; and a nephew, Roy V. Ward III of Virginia Beach. A graveside service will be held Monday in Elmwood Cemetery.
