The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark September 11, 1925


Henry A. Ward, aged 45, son of Dr. Thomas B. and Julia Paul Ward, a well-known 
resident of Norfolk, died suddenly at 6:30 o’clock yesterday morning at a local 
hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk and at the time of 
his death was connected with the F.S. Royster Company as an auditor. 
Mr. Ward’s maternal grandfather was Samuel Wentworth Paul and his paternal 
grandfather was William Ward. Besides his wife, Mr. Ward is survived by one 
daughter, Julia Paul Ward, and one sister, Mrs. Fritz Louis Sandoz, of 
Washington, D.C. Mr. Ward resided at the St. Elmo Court Apartments, 1333 
Westover Avenue.
Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church tomorrow 
afternoon at 3 o’clock. Burial will be private in Elmwood Cemetery.
