Norfolk - John Calvin Washington of 2321 Carey street, a native of Lexington 
NC received final rites Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church.  He died Dec. 17 
at his home.

The Rev. Dennis Haughton officiated at the rites.  Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery under direction of Morning Glory Funeral Home.

An employee of Raleigh Holmes Coal Company, Mr. Washington is survived by his 
wife, Mrs. Mary B. Washington;  a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Mitchell of Norfolk;  
and a son, John Herman Washington.
