The Virginian-Pilot, Thursday, December 30, 1965

NORFOLK - Elias L. Washington of 948 Marshall Ave. died Tuesday in Kecoughtan 
Veterans Hospital after a long illness.

A native of Portsmouth, he was the husband of Mrs. Mary A. Washington and a son 
of the late George Washington and Mrs. Martha Washington Mackey.

He was retired from the Post Office Department and was an Army veteran of World 
War i. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street, Bachelors Benedict 
Club, Postal Alliance, and New Deal Bridge Club.

Surviving, besides his widow, are a daughter, Mrs. Zola Wilson of Norfolk; and a 
brother, Rudolph Mackey, and wo sisters, Mrs. Ethel Harris and Mrs. Andelia 
Corprew, all of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church by 
the Rev. E.P. Sims. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with B.F. King Funeral 
Home in charge.
