New Journal and Guide, Saturday, November 17, 1934
Funeral services for Miss Clara Washington, of 1524 Wide St., who died at her 
residence November 1, were held at Hale's Chapel November 5, with the Rev. C.P. 
Madison, pastor of second Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Deceased was born 
in Mathews County and had lived here 28 years. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
