The Virginian-Pilot, Saturday, May 10, 1969

NORFOLK - Mrs. Minerva Virginia Washington of 237 W. 27th St. died Friday in a 
hospital.

A native of Norfolk, she was a daughter of Mrs. Edna Riddick and the late 
Richard Riddick and the wife of Charlie M. Washington.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by five sons, Frank Washington, 
Alinda Washinton, Wallace Washington, Randolph Washington, and Nathaniel 
Washington of Norfolk; four daughters, Mrs. Frances Steller of Philadelphia and 
Mrs. Edna Thigpen, Mrs. Maxine Auston, and Miss Margaret Washington of Norfolk; 
four brothers, Benjamin Riddick of Norfolk and Alex Riddick, Richard Riddick, 
and Kenneth Riddick of New York; four sisters, Mrs. Vivian Keaton of Norfolk, 
Mrs. Elizabeth Sizemore and Mrs. Ruby Sessoms of New York, and Mrs. Carolista 
Cowan of Portsmouth; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.

Additional Comments:
NORFOLK - A funeral service for Mrs. Minerva V. Washington will be held 
Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Hale Funeral Chapel by the Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will 
be in Calvary Cemetery.
