The Virginian-Pilot, Monday, May 1, 1967

NORFOLK - Mrs. Nessie Washington of 200 Filbert St. died Saturday in a hospital.

A native of Goldsboro, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Caswell Houston and 
Mrs. Mary F. Boykins and the widow of Alexander Washington.

She was a deaconess of First Baptist Church, Bollingbrook, and former church 
organist.

Surviving are a son, Sylvester Washington, and a daughter, Mrs. Margaret 
Harrison of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.

Additional Comments:
NORFOLK - A funeral service for Mrs. Nessie Washington will be held Sunday at 
1:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Bollingbrook, by the Rev. S.B. Lewis. Burial 
will be in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
