He was a native of Norfolk and lived in Portsmouth three years. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. George Washington, and he was the widower of Mrs. Anna Washington. He was a retired employe of Pennsylvania railroad Co., having 34 years of service. Surviving are four sons, George Washington of North Carolina, Clifton Washington of Philadelphia, Ernest Washington of Portsmouth and Clyde Washington of Norfolk; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret O'Bryan of North Carolina and Mrs. Virginia Mosley and Mrs. Edna Young of Norfolk; and a brother, Charlie Washington. The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
