Norfolk - Mrs. Mary A. Washington, 948 Marshall avenue, died recently in a local
hospital after a short illness.

She was a native of Norfolk, and the daughter of the James and Amanda Wells
Armfield and the widow of Elias L. Washington.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street, and Mary J. Brown
Missionary Group and the Wives Club of Bachelors Benedict.

Surviving is one brother, Obey Armfield of Norfolk.

The services were held in First Baptist Church, Bute Street, by the Rev. E. Paul
Simms.  Interment was held in Calvary Cemetery with B. F. King Funeral Home in
charge.
