Norfolk - Sylvester M. (Nookie) Washington of 200 Filbert St., a native of 
Norfolk, died Tuesday in Norfolk.

He was a longshoreman for 30 years and was a member of First Baptist Church, 
Bolling Brook.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Washington; six daughters, Mary Lee Patterson, 
Gail A. Patrick, Janice M. Garrison, Margaret V. Washington,Sylvia R. Parnell 
and Evelyn A. Washington, all of Norfolk; four sons, David S. Washington, 
William D. Washington, Alphonso P. Washington and Robert L. Minggia, all of 
Norfolk; a sister, Marguriete W. Harrison of Norfolk; 19 grandchildren; and four 
great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church,Bolling Brook, 
by the Rev. Sandy Blackfull. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with Hale 
Funeral Home in charge.

The family will be at the residence.
