Mary Elizabeth Downey Wassel, 69, of the 400 block of Redbrick Drive, a retired 
budget analyst, died Feb. 11, 1994, in Norfolk.

Mrs. Wassel was born in Norfolk and was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church. 
She was retired from COMNAVAIRLANT.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Wassel.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Matthew's Catholic 
Church by Father Timothy A. Drake. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Rosary 
service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, at 7 
p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to St. 
Matthew's Catholic Church Building Fund or St. Mary's Infant Home.
