Mr. Samuel Joseph Waters, of the U. S. Navy, was accidentally drowned, June 30,
while bathing at St. Thomas, B. W. I.  The news of his sudden death came as a
great shock to his family and friends, as he was expected to make a visit to his
home in a few days.  He was twenty years of age and enlisted in the Navy during
the late war and made several trips to France.  He re-enlisted and his time
would have been out February, 1922.  His body was brought home and the funeral
held Sunday, July 10th, at 4 o’clock.  Rev. Vincent D. Warren, rector of  St.
Joseph Catholic Church, officiated.  Interment took place at Calvary Cemetery. 
He is survived by his father and mother, two brothers, and three sisters. 
Several letters of condolence were received from his comrades aboard ship.
