Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, May 1, 1997 
Bernice Johnson Watkins, 77, of the 900 block of Ingleside Road, died April 28,
1997, of natural causes.

A homemaker, she was a Norfolk native.

Survivors include her five sisters, Elnora J. Ross of Norfolk, Cora J. Sutphin
of South Boston, Va., Mildred J. Ross, Ella J. Jones of Norfolk and Alice
Johnson of Philadelphia; two brothers, Joseph L. Johnson of Norfolk and William
Johnson Jr. of Philadelphia; two devoted nieces, Sheila R. Cox and Katrina Ross;
and a host of other nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Lamberts
Point, Norfolk, by the Rev. Anthony Paige. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
Family and friends will assemble at 9:30 a.m. for the funeral procession at 908
Ingleside Road, Norfolk. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
