Mrs. Watson was born in Norfolk and had retired from the Norfolk public schools after 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Bute Street; Dorcas Club; Iota Phi Lambda Sorority; Order of Eastern Star 20; and the national, state and local education associations. She was a past commandress of Arabia Court 23. She was the widow of J. Melvin Watson. The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church Bute Street by the Rev. Robert C. Murray. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . An Arabia Court service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by an Iota Phi Lambda service. The procession will assemble at 317 Mapleshore Drive, Chesapeake. The body will be placed in church at 11 a.m. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
