Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, August 12, 1998 
Westcott C. ``Spankey'' Watson, 53, of 74 King George Quay, died Aug. 7, 1998,
in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mr. Watson was born in Norfolk to the late Johnnie and Edith Watson. He is
survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jennie M. Watson of Chesapeake.

Mr. Watson retired from the U.S. Navy, serving over 20 honorable years. He also
was a faithful employee of Eastern Shore Chapel and also worked for the Virginia
Beach School System.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Chris R. Watson of Newport News;
two daughters, Belinda A. Coston and Pamela R. Barker, both of Chesapeake; his
mother-in-law, Mary M. Shepard of Portsmouth; and four lovely grandchildren,
Niquita, Matthew, Jessica and Amber.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Eastern Shore Chapel, 2020
Laskin Road, Virginia Beach. Donations may be made to the American Cancer
Society, Eastern Area Office, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513. Burial
will be in Calvary Cemetery . Graves Funeral Home is in charge
