Gilead Baptist Church for Mrs. Annie Mae Watts of 1005 Johnston road, who died Friday in a Norfolk hospital. The Rev. John R. Gray officiated at the rites. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Morning Glory Funeral Home. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lumas Herring, Mrs. Watts was a native of Kinston NC. She was a Norfolk resident for 40 years, and was employed 14 years by Dr. S. B. Mizroch. She held membership in New Calvary Baptist Church and was an usher here. Mrs. Watts is survived by her parents, her husband, George W. Watts, Jr.,; six sisters, Mrs. Ruth Patterson and Misses Lillie M. Herring and Mildred L. Herring of New York; Mrs. Annie B. Thompson of Portsmouth; Mrs. Doris Thompson of Hampton; and Mrs. Willie M. Perkins of Kinston; and four brothers, V. Herring of Portsmouth; Jeremiah and William C. Herring of New York and Jasper Herring of Kinston.
