A navy enlisted man and a civilian were the victims. Irving Weatherington, 44-year-old sailmaker, of 852 Creamer road, Bay View, was fatally injured when struck by a street car on the Norview -Ocean View line, between the Little Creek road and Bay View boulevard about 5:30 a.m. Mr. Weatherington was said to have suffered head injuries and died at St. Vincent's Hospital. Native of Portlock; Author of 7 Books Mr. Weatherington was a native of South Norfolk, a son of the late George and Mrs. Mamie Fentress Weatherington. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. E.T. Ward and Mrs. W.E. Williamson, of Norfolk, and three brothers, Jesse Weatherington, of Richmond, and Clyde and Clarence Weatherington, of Princess Anne. The body was removed to the J.R. Williams Funeral Home 1027 Chesapeake avenue, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. *************** Irving Weatherington - Funeral services for Mr. Weatherington, who died Sunday morning in a local hospital as the result of being hit by a street car in Norfolk proper, were conducted in the J.R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 Chesapeake avenue, South Norfolk, yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. G.T. Forrester, pastor of Chesapeake Avenue Methodist Church, officiated. The pallbearers were H.H. McClennan, Sidney Etheridge, Morris Wallace, C.R. Wallace. G.C. Murden and Shirley Saunders. Burial was in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery.
