He was the husband of Mrs. Mary Loretta Joynes Weaver and a son of John Thomas and Mrs. Annie Butler Weaver. A native of Zebulon, Ga., he lived here most of his life. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was a retired Navy chief with 27 years of service, which included World Wars I and II. He was a member of Norfolk Moose Lodge 39, Fleet Reserve Chapter 5, and Holy Family Retreat Association. / He was retired from Seaboard Citizens Bank. Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Anna Catherine Andrews of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Lois Martin of Barnesville, Ga.; and two grandsons, E. Ray Andrews, of Norfolk and Air Force Sgt. Rhyan C. Andrews of Langley Air Force Base. The Office of the Dead will be said in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, today at 6:30 p.m. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated in Christ the King Catholic Church Saturday at 11:15 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to the building fund of Christ the King Catholic Church.
