VETERAN DRUGGIST DIES AT AGE OF 86
Robert Watson Webb, Sr., Succumbs to Illness; Resident Here 65 Years

Robert Watson Webb, Sr., aged 86, for 65 years a resident of Norfolk, died 
at his residence, 826 North Marshall Avenue, yesterday afternoon at 5 
o’clock. He is survived by his daughter, Miss Margaret Rhodes Webb, and two 
sons, James Rudolph and Robert Watson Webb, Jr. 
Mr. Webb was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and was the last 
member of the guild that formed St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. During the 
Civil War he served as a member of the North Carolina 32nd Regiment and was 
a member of the Pickett-Buchanan Camp, Confederate Veterans. Mr. Webb was 
the oldest druggist in Norfolk and one of the oldest in the State. He had 
not been active in business for the last 15 years. 
Funeral service will be announced.

Robert Watson Webb, Sr. - Funeral services for Mr. Webb will be conducted at 
the St. Peter's Episcopal Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. 
Norman, rector of the church, officiating.  Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.

Funerals
Robert Watson Webb, Sr. –Funeral services for Mr. Webb were conducted 
yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, the Rev. 
Norman E. Taylor, rector of the church, officiating. Pallbearers were J. 
Edward Cole, C. S. Whitehurst, J. P. Nimmo, J. H. Cooper, C. Lee Dudley, 
Robert Atkinson, C. B. White and John Cole. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
