S. Webber, Aged 60, Dies Engaged in Real Estate Business Here; Resided in Virginia Beach William Slade Webber, Sr., aged 60, well known citizen, died yesterday morning at 3:30 o’clock at a local hospital. He was a native of Norfolk, a son of the late John S. Webber, who for many years was assistant chief of the Norfolk Fire Department and Mrs. Caroline Anthony Webber. He had been engaged in the real estate business for a number of years in Norfolk. He resided at 2404 Arctic Avenue, Virginia Beach. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mabel L. King Webber; a son William Slade Webber, Jr., Petersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Webber Ingram and Mrs. Elaine Webber Pritchard, both of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Nancy Sibley Webber, of Petersburg; two brothers, John S. Webber, of New York City, and Charles Webber, of Norfolk, and three sisters, Mrs. E. A. Page and Mrs. Harold Child, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Charles Lawrence, of Philadelphia. The body was taken to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Norfolk Virginian Pilot Friday October 29, 1943 William Slade Webber, Sr.-Funeral services for Mr. Webber, who died Wednesday at a local hospital, will be held at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, this afternoon at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. C. Newman Faulconer, pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
