Norfolk Virginian June 19, 1904

Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at his late residence, in South Norfolk, Mr. 
Benjamin Weeks an aged man of 53 years, departed this life, after a brief 
illness of paralysis, having been taken suddenly about two days prior to his 
death. The deceased was a native of the Old North State, but had been a 
resident of this section for some time.  He leaves a wife and several 
children to mourn their loss.  The funeral will take place this afternoon 
from the residence and the obsequies will be conducted by Rev. P.S.C. Davis, 
pastor of the South Norfolk Baptist Church.  The interment will be in 
Magnolia Cemetery.

The funeral of the late Benjamin Weeks, who died last Friday at the home in 
South Norfolk, took place Sunday afternoon from the family residence.  Rev. 
W. Asbury Christian, pastor of Memorial M.E. Church, officiated.
The interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.  The deceased leaves a wife, Mrs. 
Rosanna Weeks; three sons, William, Nathaniel and John Weeks and one 
daughter, Mrs. J.A. Barron.
