Virginian Pilot October 22, 1964

Mrs. Marcella Otis Welch, 58, of 3308 Stancil Court, Princess Anne Plaza, widow 
of Robert J. Welch and daughter of John L. and Mrs. Nellie Boze Otis, died in a 
Norfolk hospital Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
A native of New Orleans, she lived in this area 33 years. She was a member of 
St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bettie Welch Vaughan, Mrs. Shirley 
Welch Hansen and Mrs. Marcella Welch Beard and son, Robert J. Welch, all of 
Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs. Richard A. Corcoran and a brother, N.J. Otis, 
both of New Orleans; 15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. 
The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk.

WELCH, MARCELLA OTIS – At a local hospital, Wednesday, October 21, 1964, 
MARCELLA OTIS, widow of Robert J. Welch and daughter of the late John J. and 
Mrs. Nellie Boze Otis, in the 59th year of her age. Remains will be taken from 
the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, Norfolk, to St. 
Nicholas Catholic Church for services this (Saturday) morning at 10 o’clock. 
Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
