The Virginian-Pilot, Thursday, December 14, 1961

NORFOLK - William S. Welch, 66, of 910 Merrimac Ave. died Tuesday in a Norfolk 
hospital after a short illness.

He was a son of Emanuel and Mrs. Arlethia Welch and the husband of Mrs. Rebecca 
Welch.

A native of Suffolk, he lived in Norfolk 53 years. He was an employe of Cavalier 
Yacht and Country Club.

Besides his widow he is survived by two sons, Gene L. Welch and Frank T. Welch; 
a daughter, Miss Ethel Welch; two brothers, Lloyd Welch and Vernon Welch, all of 
Norfolk.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be 
conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. William O. Deloatch of Mt. Zion Baptist 
Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
