Ledger-Star September 29, 1920
Mrs. Marie C. Wells, 58 years old, died yesterday afternoon at the residence, 201 
West Twenty-sixth street. She was a native of Washington but had lived in Norfolk 
twenty years. She is survived by her husband, W. L. Wells. She also leaves one 
sister, Mrs. Blanche Petrie, of New York. Funeral services will be held Saturday 
morning at 10:30 o’clock at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. 
Mary’s cemetery.
