Mrs. Wells died at 11 o'clock yesterday morning at her home in the Florida city. She formerly was a resident of Norfolk and was the widow of Jake Wells, who for may years was president of the Wells chain of theatres and other amusement enterprises that extended from Norfolk and Richmond to Birmingham, Ala. When she resided in Norfolk, Mrs. Wells took an active part in church and women's organizations. While she was prominent in Catholic activities, she was noted for her charitable work to all classes, regardless of race or creed. She had been in ill health for sometime and her death was not unexpected. She has made her home with relatives in Pensacola a number of years. Mrs. Wells is survived by four nieces, Mrs. Janet Allen Smith, Mrs. Lucille Allen Armstrong, Miss Maude Allen and Mrs. Edward White, all of Pensacola. The body will arrive here Sunday and will be taken to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
