He was born June 28, 1918 in Norfolk to the late Samuel Walter Wells and the late Mary Etta Hides Wells. Mr. Wells was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in North Africa and Italy with the U.S. Maritime Service and also the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. Most of his friends would remember him for his daily breakfast at Mary's Restaurant and his love for the outdoors, especially fishing. While in Virginia Beach Rehab he served as the president of the Resident Council for two years and loved taking care of his patients. His favorite dancing song was Tennessee Waltz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Wells. He is survived by a brother, Raymond Wells of Norfolk; a very dear friend, Judy Robbins; and many other friends at Virginia Beach Healthcare during his three years as a resident. The family would like to say thank you to Unit No. 4 nursing and CNA Staff. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Riverside Memorial Cemetery. The Cremation Society of Virginia, Virginia Beach, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may sign the guest register for Mr. Wells at www.cremate.org.
