Virginian Pilot September 8, 1994
Charter Wells Sr., 95, of Norfolk died Sept. 6, 1994 at his residence. Mr. 
Wells, a retired printer, served as an elder at East Ocean View Presbyterian 
Church. He was active in the Grace and Hope Mission of Norfolk and served as 
chaplain for the Odd Fellows Lodge. Survivors include three sons: Charter Wells 
Jr. of Fairfax, Va.; Robert Wells of Virginia Beach; and James Wells of Fort 
Myers, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services 
will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hollomon-Brown, Indian River Chapel. The 
family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and 
other times at 716 Arvin Road, Virginia Beach. Memorial donations may be made 
to Gideons International.
