Virginian Pilot May 4, 1900 

Mr. Thomas W. West, a recent resident of the town, died yesterday morning at 
9:30 o'clock at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. H.N. Engelke, No. 3 
Clifton street, after an illness of several years.  He was eighty-two years 
old.  He was a resident of Charleston S.C., where he lived the greater part 
of his life.  The funeral will be conducted from the residence, No. 3 
Clifton street, this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.  Rev. T.C. Skinner, pastor 
of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, will officiate.  The interment will be 
in Magnolia Cemetery.
